Ginger-fried Beef
500 g ground beef
2 tbsp butter
2/3 cup shredded carrots
2 tbsp chopped green onions
1/4 cup finely chopped fresh ginger
4 garlic cloves, chopped
Sauce
3 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp red or white wine
2 tbsp white vinegar
1 tbsp sesame oil
1/4 cup brown sugar
Dash of crushed chili flakes
or less than 1 tsp sriracha
Fried Rice Base
Brown rice
Frozen mixed vegetables
Eggs, to taste
INSTRUCTIONS
Fried Rice
Cook brown rice according to package directions.
In a large skillet or frying pan, cook frozen mixed vegetables until heated through.
Add cooked brown rice to the pan.
Push the rice mixture to one side of the pan and scramble eggs to taste.
Mix everything together and cook until heated through and lightly fried.
Sauce
In a small bowl or measuring cup, combine:
soy sauce
wine
white vinegar
sesame oil
brown sugar
chili flakes or sriracha
Whisk well until the brown sugar is mostly dissolved.
Ginger-Fried Beef
In a large skillet or wok, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned and slightly crispy. Drain excess grease if needed and set aside.
Add butter to the skillet.
Add shredded carrots, green onions, fresh ginger, and garlic. Stir fry briefly over high heat until fragrant.
Pour the prepared sauce into the skillet and bring to a light boil. Cook for 1-2 minutes until slightly thickened and fragrant.
Return the cooked ground beef to the pan and stir until everything is evenly coated and heated through.
To Serve
Spoon the fried rice mixture into bowls and top with the ginger-fried beef.
