Stovetop Carne Asada Street Style Tacos

Marinade & Meat
· 2 lbs flank steak or skirt steak, chopped into small square pieces
· 1 tbsp butter
· Onion and garlic, to taste
· 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
· 1 tsp chili powder
· 1 tsp ground cumin
· 1 tsp smoked paprika
· 1 tsp salt
· 1/2 tsp black pepper
Additional Ingredients
· 12 small corn tortillas
· 1/2 cup diced white onion
· 1/2 cup chopped cilantro
· Lime wedges, for serving
· Salsa or hot sauce (optional)
· Guacamole, for serving
INSTRUCTIONS
Prepare the Meat
Chop the steak into small square pieces.
In a bowl, season the steak with chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, cilantro, onion, and garlic.
Let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
Cook the Carne Asada
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and melt the butter.
Add the marinated steak and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side until nicely browned and cooked through.
Remove from heat and let rest briefly.
Warm the Tortillas
Heat tortillas in a skillet until soft and lightly charred if desired.
Assemble the Tacos
Fill tortillas with the cooked carne asada.
Top with diced onion, cilantro, lime juice, salsa or hot sauce if desired, and serve with guacamole on the side.
